My father took great pride in that statement. He was a Jack-of-all-trades, and was even a master of some. He quit school after 8th grade to work on the family dairy farm. As a 21 year old, he married my mother on her 18th birthday. He worked for a cabinet manufacturer until he started his own business as a custom cabinet-maker. He bought his parents dairy farm when I was about 8 yrs old. While farming, he sold and serviced RV’s as a complement to our family campground business. In his spare time, he built two of his own homes. He was capable in all the construction trades, including plumbing, electric and HVAC. He could arc-weld when necessary, and was a veterinarian when he needed to be. Later in life, he took a job as head of maintenance at a medical facility that was doing some extensive expansion. My father’s name was actually Merlin, and at times he seemed to be a wizard.
